为吴仁宝翻译

“天下第一村”华西村有个“天下第一报告”，那便是华西老书记吴仁宝。凡参观华西者先是听吴仁宝的报告，接着观摩华西特色艺术团的文艺演出，然后参观日新月异的华西村容村貌——初时是参观华西的“龙凤广场”和“二十四孝”以及“桃园三结义”雕塑等；到了上世纪九十年代中期，华西第一座金塔落成，便增加了登金塔眺望华西全貌和进村民别墅感受华西人幸福生活的节目；后来华西的伟人雕塑、古今名人雕塑和欧美澳的特色建筑又成了观光客必看的风景；及至金塔群崛起，公园山水景观越来越成气候，特色农业又独树一帜，华西的风景简直目不暇接；然而，华西人没有止步，一座328米高的新农村大厦——龙希大厦拔地而起，更为人们瞩目；至于村里的“天下第一钟”、“天下第一鼓”和1：1比例建造之“天安门”和“故宫”以及直升飞机空中看华西……皆华西人之独创，是吴仁宝“不土不洋，不城不乡”风格的实践。

在看不尽的华西风光中，最引人入胜的还数吴仁宝的报告。吴仁宝一介老农、农村基层领导，思想却博大精深，经历更跌宕起伏，语言则充满哲理和机趣，他操的一口地道浓郁的江阴土话，要让他硬扭舌头讲普通话，无异强按牛头喝水，如若他真的来个“洋泾浜”国语，怕是机敏全失，风趣不再，也就不成为吴仁宝报告啦。怎么办？欲使来自五湖四海的参观者充分领略老书记原汁原味报告的魅力，又能听得明白，亏他想得出来，来了个现场直译。屈指算来，吴仁宝的现场翻译已经换了三任了——首任是他的孙女吴芳，第二任是他的外孙女缪华，第三任是他的孙媳妇周丽。这三任翻译的风采我都领略过，各有千秋，都为老书记的报告增色不少，比较之下，我对周丽的翻译风格更为熟悉一些。老书记猝然逝世后我与这位八零后的师范外语系毕业生长谈过，感知她既是吴仁宝孙媳妇又是其翻译的不寻常之处。

周丽说，她第一次上门见吴仁宝，吴仁宝一家正在上世纪七十年代的老屋吃饭，她清楚记得小饭桌上三只菜：茶叶蛋、生撮豆腐、煸青菜。吴仁宝放下饭碗第一句话：“十只黄猫九只雄”。幸亏周丽是邻村人，识得俚言俗语，就回答：“十个教师九个穷”，一下与老书记拉近了距离。老书记尊重她当教师的选择之余问她今后在华西发展如何？周丽当然应允，于是后来接了当爷爷翻译的茬，并且担任了华西旅游总公司的掌门。

给吴仁宝当翻译可不是件容易的事，他经常会即兴发挥，妙语连珠。翻译必须跟上他的语速和思维，有时也不免尴尬，如一次他在批评有些人超前消费时用了“寅吃卯粮”这个成语，周丽心里辘轳飞转，误以为是“人吃猫粮”，寻思“人怎么吃猫粮呢？”只能缄口。过后，吴仁宝希望她多熟悉民间俗语，多关心时政。

有一回十一世班禅来华西参观，吴仁宝形容华西的变化时用了一连串顺口溜：“过去穿的是补丁装，现在是一年四季穿时装；过去吃的是麸皮糠，现在是鱼翅燕窝都有尝；过去住的是茅草房，现在住的是别墅小洋房；过去是走路双脚光，现在是方向盘上双手挡；过去是口袋两面光，现在是家有余钱存银行；过去是零散小村庄，现在是人间天堂赛苏杭。”周丽译得滴水不漏。班禅听得热泪盈眶，由衷地说：“您是我见到的真正的共产党人，我相信在党的领导下，在社会主义大家庭中，西藏人民在不久的将来也会过上和华西人一样幸福美满的生活。”

如今吴仁宝去世了，没有老书记的老书记报告依然是华西村最受欢迎的节目——周丽每天都要上台作好几场报告，再配上老书记的影像和阎维文所唱的《好书记》的歌曲，依然牵人情怀，催人奋进。只是周丽感到身边没有了老书记坐镇，没有他的风趣幽默、活力四射，是何等的孤单！
