教育家李育中逝世 曾最先翻译卡夫卡作品

他是国内第一个翻译海明威与卡夫卡作品的翻译家

 

先生享年103岁，追悼会将于7月4日下午3时在广州殡仪馆举行

6月28日，中国民主同盟盟员、华南师范大学资深教授、当代岭南文化名人、著名文学家、翻译家、教育家李育中在广州逝世，享年103岁。

 

他的一生，记载着多个第一：第一个翻译美国著名作家海明威小说《诀别武器》；“文革”后，第一个翻译现代主义小说鼻祖卡夫卡作品，第一个将乔伊斯、萨特介绍给国人。他的一生，过得极为丰富，早年当过翻译、诗人、影评人、战地记者，晚年则是个著名的藏书家。他在华师从教36年，兼教中文、美术和英文，被誉为“华师一宝”。

 

李先生驾鹤西去，让他的不少同事、学生叹息，很难再找到李先生这样的学者、老师了。先生的追悼会，将于7月4日下午3时，在广州殡仪馆青松堂举行。

 

谈学问

 

我是个杂家

 

李育中祖籍广东新会，1911年1月生于澳门。他笑称自己是经历了清朝、民国、共和国的“三朝元老”。他历任广东省立艺专、广州市立艺专、华南人民文学艺术学院教师，华南师范大学教授。

 

从青年时代起，他就活跃于香港、广东以及西南各省的文学和新闻界。解放后，李育中来到华南师范大学任教，兼教中文、美术和英文，被誉为“华师一宝”。2007年入选“当代岭南文化名人”。他深受学生喜爱，百岁高龄的他，在华师女生票选“偶像”老师时，位列第四，前三位都是年轻老师。

 

李老的本科学生，原华南师大校长管林回忆道，李老是中文系里少有的，可以跟中青年教师、学生都谈笑风生的人。他古今中外知识非常丰富，常开玩笑称：“我是个杂家。”和李老接触30余年的同事陈尚仁说，他常常和我们这些后辈谈学问、谈工作、谈人生，直至深夜。“我和他说，再不走就影响您休息了，他才肯放过我们。”

 

谈影视明星

作为诗人，他的诗歌选入香港中学教材并被翻译成几国文字；作为作家，他被《香港小说史》誉为香港新小说的“开国元勋”；作为翻译家，他最早翻译了海明威的《诀别武器》等；作为记者，他的报告文学《缅甸远征记》影响深远。

 

李先生中文系99级学生陈开斌回忆道，私下里，我们管李老师叫老头子。他关心“三坛”，文坛、学坛、政坛。书籍、电影、美术、书法、诗词，他样样涉猎。他还特别关心新生事物。每次出门，必在书报亭买报纸。

 

谈及台湾女明星林志玲时，他开心地说，这个人讲话娃娃音，很随和。而且她对人很和善，有教养，素质很高。家庭教育也不错，身兼加拿大两个学士。而且不像其他女演员有很多绯闻。

 

谈家里藏书

 

我走了无所谓，那些书怎么办

 

让李老的同事和学生们印象深刻的，莫过于他对书的喜爱和痴迷。李老的第一届研究生，华师文学院院长陈少华谈到李老，湿了眼眶。他说，李老极具人格魅力。他淡泊、豁达、宽容。记得有段时间，他自己一个人住。让学生帮忙买菜时，只给学生10块钱。学生说，一个星期10块钱能买些什么？也就是一点豆腐、青菜、鸡蛋。他生活很简朴，买书却很大方。常常拉着学生去购书中心、北京路等地买书。

 

李老的小儿子李小中回忆道，印象中父亲就是一个书虫。每天看书10个小时，若有社会活动，没看足，第二天还要把时间补上。家里的走廊过道都装满了他的书。晚年的时候，他常常说“我走了无所谓，就是不放心那些书怎么办。”

李育中，祖籍广东新会，1911年出生于澳门。著名文学家、翻译家、教育家。大学毕业后历任广东省立艺专、广州市立艺专、华南人民文学艺术学院教师，华南师范大学教授、中国作家协会会员、广东鲁迅研究学会顾问。

最爱吃酸甜咕噜肉

 

除了每天乐呵呵地钻进书窝，看书读报外，李老先生还特别喜爱美食。学生郑开斌回忆，李老师最爱吃的一道菜是酸甜咕噜肉。每次和“老头子”去饭馆，他都必点这道菜。记得后来他生病时，去看他，一谈起这道菜，他两眼炯炯有神。他的学生回忆，他还爱喝咖啡，晚年则爱喝老火靓汤。“这也是他养生的一大秘诀吧。”

 

李先生爱和学生聊天。从书籍、到学术知识、再到生活八卦，无所不包。“伟人、圣人、美人都是我们聊天的话题。每次去他家，一聊便是两三个小时，谈起诗歌，他兴奋的很呢。”郑开斌说。

 

李先生有好几个“忘年交”。学生李宇红便是其中之一。“李老师是许多小辈们的精神寄托。”李宇红说，常常骑车经过北区宿舍，去看看他，和他聊聊心事。他总劝我，人要往前走，往前看，特别是女孩子，不要情绪化。“有时，他还和我比手劲。“一握手，总觉得那是一种精神力量的传递。”

 

李先生很有风度，也很关心学生们的人生大事。郑开斌说，记得上学那阵，李老师常常关心我：有女朋友了吗？“一交到女朋友，我就立马带去给他看。”
