“群租”用英文怎么说？

据《东方早报》报道，上海房管局局长刘海生透露，上海已经起草了一条针对群租行为的新规定，计划下个月开始实施。

Shanghai has drafted a new rule to regulate group renting, the practice of dividing apartments into smaller rooms and renting them separately, and vows to substantially raise the penalty imposed on illegal renters.

上海已经起草了一个规范群租行为的新条例，据称这一新规定将大大加重对非法承租人的惩罚力度。群租就是把公寓里的房间隔成更小的房间，然后分别租给不同的人。

群租的英文表达就是group renting，具体而言就是dividing apartments into smaller rooms and renting them separately。

对于那些tenants who illegally sublet apartments to others（非法将房屋转租他人的二房东），按新规定将征收更高的罚款（目前罚款最高为3万元）。

尽管政府已出台多项政策来阻止property speculation（房产投机，炒房），并努力发展affordable housing（经济适用房），中国大城市的高房价还是逼迫许多低收入的人去住群租房的隔断间或住basement apartments（地下室）。
