“烟花爆竹”用英文怎么说？

1月26日，北京市1178个销售网点开始销售马年烟花爆竹。销售首日各摊位均未出现大客流。由于今年本市首次实施重污染天气禁放措施，不少市民表示，如果遭遇重污染天气，将不会燃放烟花爆竹。

Public enthusiasm for fireworks seems to be fizzling out in the face of concerns over air pollution, with many people posting online messages calling for restraint in celebrations during Spring Festival.

出于对空气污染的担忧，公众对烟花爆竹的热情似乎正在消退。不少人都在网上发帖，呼吁春节期间尽量少放烟花爆竹。

Fireworks（烟花）和firecrackers（爆竹）一直是春节（Spring Festival）期间最受欢迎的节日用品。据说，烟花爆竹点燃后发出的声响和光亮能够驱走野兽“年”，同时赶走所有厄运。春节期间的传统习俗 （traditional custom）包括放鞭炮（lighting firecrackers）、贴春联（pasting Spring Festival couplets）、互相拜年（exchanging New Year greetings）等等。

不过，由于国内大部分城市近两年都遭遇雾霾（smog），引发人们对空气污染（air pollution）的普遍关注。今年销售的烟花爆竹中也首次出现环保型烟花（environmentally-friendly fireworks），有的还号称“无硫（free of sulfur）、无烟（smoke-free）、无纸屑（free of paper scraps）”。北京市首次提出了在发布空气重污染橙色(air pollution orange alert)、红色预警(air pollution red alert)情况下，全市范围内禁放烟花爆竹。
