残疾人福音 中科院与微软尝试用Kinect翻译手语

对于不少聋哑人以及听力障碍人士来说，手语是很重要的交流语言，不过普通人一般很少人会学手语，这导致听力障碍人士和普通人之间的交流又多了一条鸿沟。

因此，近年来有很多研究人员致力于研究手语识别技术，令普通人也可以看得懂手语。之前研究人员尝试过一些感应器，例如传感手套或专用的摄像头，得到了很好的效果，但是这些设备要么不方便穿着，要么过于昂贵。而网络摄像头则面临着各种各样的问题。

现在，研究人员将目光转移到了Kinect上。中科院计算机研究所和微软亚洲研究院的研究人员最近尝试用Kinect来识别手语动作，取得了相当好的效果。中科院专家陈熙霖表示，这次研究最突出的成果实际上是找到了一种低成本可实用的手语识别工具。

用Kinect识别手语有两种模式，一种是翻译模式，单纯将手语翻译成文字或语音。第二种是交流模式，可以输入文本并转化成手语影像，也可以将手语转换成文字或语音，为普通人和听力障碍人士之间的交流而设计。目前这套系统还是依托于Kinect，无法方便地携带出门，但是在未来这个问题有望得到解决。
