“中性”翻译引争议

近日，有网友发帖称，河北白洋淀惊现“中性卫生间”，引发网友围观。白洋淀旅游码头工作人员解释称，这种厕所实际上是为了方便老幼病残而建造的，是一种人性化厕所。由于这些人行动不便，所以允许异性亲属陪同进入。

“中性卫生间”在国外很普遍，这种厕所叫做unisex，就是说可以不分性别，一般用“男女，中间加个轮椅”作为标识。不过这样的人性化服务受到了大家的争议。

名称不妥受到误解

“中性卫生间”最大的争议来自于“中性”一词，很多网友认为翻译不妥。网友“lacus0”说：“中性的意思是不男不女，或者又男又女，不达到这些条件你们敢去？”还有网友认为，出发点是好的，但名字也要考虑国情，考虑语言环境啊！财经网网友表示，“如果不解释其作用，都要成为摆设了。”

据了解，“中性卫生间”使用率并不高，由于没有任何说明，大多数游客犹豫后都不会选择进入。虽然是项人性化服务，但“中性”却让人费解。相比公交车上的“老弱病残孕专座”，同样是人性化服务，但是这样的名称通俗易懂。“中性卫生间”如果直接取名为“通用卫生间”、“家庭卫生间”、“无障碍卫生间”，这样人性化的服务才不会让人产生误解。
