“微信红包”用英文怎么说？

这两天，微信朋友圈最热闹的活动莫过于“抢红包”：群里的一个人设定红包总金额并设置红包数量，其他人抢红包，抢到的红包中金额随机，多的可能超过 红包总额的80%，少的只有一两分钱。这个游戏的好玩之处在于红包总金额不限，哪怕10元，也可以给20个人甚至100个人发红包；至于抢红包的人图的也 并非红包多少，几分钱也是一个新年彩头。

“Red envelope” fever has swept the country since Jan 26 when WeChat, China’s popular mobile chat app, rolled out a program allowing users to send cash through electronic payments.

自从1月26日中国热门手机聊天应用微信推出让用户通过电子支付发红包的活动以来，“抢红包热”席卷了全国。

红包可翻译为money in red envelop，俗称lucky money（压岁钱）。Chat group（聊天群）里的一个人可设置要发出的红包总金额，以及要发给多少人，然后由应用程序来allocate the money randomly（随机发钱）。

其实最先发明“发红包”的是阿里巴巴，但是支付宝的用户群远不及微信，因此影响力也有限。阿里巴巴和腾讯这两个网络巨头的竞争日益激烈，阿里巴巴先推出personal finance product（个人理财产品），腾讯最近也在微信上推出了financial service product（金融服务产品）。同时这两个公司还在比拼taxi-hailing mobile apps（打车手机应用）。
