80后广东仔误打误撞进入翻译界 掀起“译坛”小旋风

1980年出生的李继宏是个地地道道的广东仔，大学毕业后去到上海，当过记者，做过杂志。从2005年出版第一部译作至今的8年时间里，李继宏翻译出版的作品已经达24部。
因为新译作《小王子》在腰封上使用了“迄今为止最优秀译本”的宣传语，而卷入了一场“是非战”；因炮轰一些名著翻译“错误百出”，这位“少年得志”的译者在“译坛”掀起了一股不小的旋风。
不过，他毕竟成了国内为数不多的拿10%版税的文学著作的译者，有人说，这打破了国内文学著作译者通常只拿千字几十元稿酬的“潜规则”。
误打误撞进入翻译界
记者：您是个地道的广东揭阳人，怎么想到去上海发展？
李继宏：这个说起来话就长了。大学毕业后我其实是先到了广州天河区宣传部上班。后来有个朋友，他当时在上海参与筹办《东方早报(博客,微博)》，于是就来了上海，到今年正好10年。
记者：是做记者吗？
李继宏：在文化部当记者，不过其实我很懒，不太愿意出去跑，也不太愿意和陌生人打交道，所以后来改成做编译的工作，一年后去参与筹办《私家地理》。当时比较得闲，朋友介绍了一个翻译的活，这本书就是《维纳斯的诞生》，这也是我翻译的第一本小说，那年我24岁，我大概花了1个多月就译完了，赚了1万5千元的稿费。
加上那时《私家地理》正式创办了，我变得非常忙碌，经常要出差，曾经10天跑了东北14个城市，有一次一个月才回家住了5天，基本没有自己的时间，很累，我觉得这种生活感觉不是太对，然后我又误以为我可以靠翻译赚钱，于是我想我就不做了，在家专门做翻译吧，然后就辞职了。
但其实我当时不知道，自己并非专业出身，又不认识出版社的人，也只是译了一本书而已，没有啥名气。我给很多出版社发邮件，说我译了这么本书，如果你们有书要译，可以找我，但没有人理我。
最难忘是中大
“每次去广州，只要时间不是很赶，我都会回学校去走一圈，甚至就住在学校里。去年5月回学校做讲座，一踏进校门，一闻到那股熟悉的味道，我就想哭，眼泪就下来了。因为在这里生活了4年，有很多美好的回忆，年轻没有忧虑，每天的时间都可以用来学习和思考。”
10天译完20万字
记者：您作为非专业出身是如何做到的？还能译那么快，比如《追风筝的人》19.5万字，您只花了十多天就译完了。
李继宏：我大学时背过一本辞典，所以我看书很少会碰到不认识的字，基本上一本三四百页的通俗小说，我不认识的单词不会超过三四个，所以我不太需要去查辞典。还有我打字特别快，一分钟可以打140个字。
说到翻译，实际上是从大学就开始了，因为社会学的很多教科书、教材和专著都来自于国外，从那个时候开始，我会尝试做一些翻译的工作。而且我看的书很杂，除了社会学方面的，还有古典文学、哲学和宗教方面，在中山大学读书时我最喜欢去的是图书馆的古籍部，我基本上每晚都去。
记者：您平时的工作状态怎样？
李继宏：我儿子暑假来看我时说：“爸爸，你怎么这么辛苦！”我一般从早上五六时起床开始工作，到晚上十一二时睡觉，其中除了买菜、做饭等一些基本的生活杂事，我都在工作，所以很多人觉得我作品很多，但不知道我工作时间很长。
记者：您觉得怎么样才算是一本好的译著？怎么样才能做一个好的译者？
李继宏：好的译者很简单，就是能提供一个好的翻译作品的人。在我看来，一个好的翻译作品，它首先一定是要好读的，必须符合中文的规范，一些翻译作品读起来觉得很生硬，这只有一个原因，就是译者自己没有读懂原文；第二是准确性，有单词的准确性，还有整个句子意思的准确性，以及文体上的准确性。比如你看高行健的书和余华的书，肯定有不同的感觉，这就是二者文体上的差别，又比如狄更斯的《双城记》，平均每个句子的长度是20.4个单词，而海明威的《老人与海》，平均长度是14.7等等，这些文体上的差别就会造成读者阅读感觉的差别，作为译者，你不能都译成一种风格。
