600名阿富汗随同英军的翻译将获得英居住权

据英国广播公司(BBC)5月22日报道，英国政府消息人士证实，多达600名与驻阿英军一同工作的阿富汗翻译将获得居住生活在英国的权利。报道称，该计划标志着英国移民部官员的让步，此前他们决定这些翻译人员不应获得与伊拉克翻译同等的英国移民权利。

据悉，从事前线工作一年或一年以上的阿富汗翻译人员将被提供一个为期五年的签证。该计划将覆盖大约一半曾帮助过英军的阿富汗翻译。

来自唐宁街的消息人士说，该计划将给翻译们一个选择的机会，继续在阿富汗工作、学习新的技能、去重建阿富汗，或者赴英国开创一个全新的生活。

英国广播公司记者卡洛琳•怀亚特称，英联邦在这个问题上曾出现过分歧。英国自由民主党称之为“移民安置计划”。但也有人担心，西方军队撤离阿富汗后，这些翻译的英国居住权也随之被剥夺，卡洛琳补充说。

报道称，3名阿富汗翻译已针对英国政府先前的决定，向进行司法审查的高级法院提出索赔。

来自唐宁街的消息人士说，英国首相卡梅伦“很清楚我们不应背弃那些在赫尔曼德(阿富汗西南省份)与我们的士兵走同一条路的阿富汗人，导致其生命危险，因为他们曾帮助我军完成使命”。

“我们应该认识到，那些人置自身安危于不顾，而对我们的工作给予支持。”该消息人士补充说。

报道指出，许多阿富汗翻译称他们因为帮助英军而收到了生命威胁，而一些人已经逃到英国寻求避难。
