贾平凹《废都》由中英两国学者完成英文版翻译

新华网西安7月25日电 著名作家贾平凹的长篇小说《废都》英文版，由中英两国学者共同翻译完成。“应该有更多出色的中国小说让世界读者熟知。”译者之一胡宗锋24日说。
《废都》讲述了都市中几位文人“颓废”的生活与心态，在出版之后曾引起争议。
胡宗锋现为西北大学外国语学院副院长，他告诉记者，翻译工作由他和在西北大学任教的英国学者罗宾共同完成。
贾平凹是中国当代著名作家，著有《浮躁》《废都》《怀念狼》《秦腔》、《高兴》、《古炉》等多部长篇小说，他的作品被翻译成多种语言在世界20多个国家发行。小说《废都》已被译成法文、日文、俄文等多国文字，1997年获得法国费米娜文学奖。
