国家社会主义：（德文：Nationaler Sozialismus），这个政治词汇源于德语，在中文语境中尚无明确之译义与概念，易与纳粹（Nationalsozialismus）混淆。纳粹主义有时亦译作“国家社会主义”，然两者之意义并非全然等同。国家社会主义之涵义乃广于纳粹主义。国家社会主义乃起于十九世纪末叶的欧洲（1890年代），在二十世纪上半叶于德国境内流行的政治思潮与运动，其概念乃融合民族、国家与社会主义，但并非纳粹主义，因其基本上不含种族主义之内涵。这里National真正的含义是指民族，符合了希特勒“种族至上论”以及种族清洗做法。
因此，翻译为“民族社会主义”更为妥当。
