英语翻译：强化热点话题 打牢基本功

在考研英语中，英译汉题型是重点考查考生准确理解概念或结构复杂的英语材料，并将其译成汉语能力的主观性试题，对考生在词汇、语法、阅读理解、中文表达等方面的综合能力有较高的要求。考研英译汉的文章长约400词，其中5个划线部分(约150词)被要求译成汉语。共5小题，每小题2分，共10分。英译汉文章的体裁以议论文为主，内容涉及社会生活、科普、文化、历史、地理、政治、经济等方面，以社科领域为走势。在最近十年中，人文科学，如传媒、法律、教育、道德等话题，成为考研翻译文章的热点。

考研翻译试题的考点主要集中在三个层面：

第一、词语在具体语境中的翻译，包括代词、名词、动词、固定搭配和专有名词等的灵活运用。

第二、从句的翻译，主要包括定语从句、状语从句和名词性从句。

第三、对特殊句式的掌握，如：被动句、强调句、倒装句等。

根据大纲要求，译文要准确、完整、通顺。这也就意味着英译汉考查的重点是对英语句子的准确理解，不能随意增加和遗漏原文信息，再用符合汉语的语言文字把原文的意思表达出来。如果译文明显扭曲原文意思，该句得分最多不超过0.5分。如果考生就一个题目提供两个或两个以上的译法，若均正确，给分;如果其中一个译法有错，按错误译法评分。译文中的错别字和通假字不单独扣分，按整篇累计方式计算。在不影响理解译文的前提下，满三个错别字扣0.5分，无0.25扣分。

考研英语将“英译汉”作为一种题型是十分科学的，它积极地、实事求是地考查了学生词汇、语法、阅读理解、逻辑思维和中文表达水平等综合能力。其句子具有长难句多，结构复杂，用词灵活，专业术语多等特点。

众所周知，词汇是任何一种语言的最小元素。名词在翻译中至关重要，在句子中可作主语、宾语、表语、定语等。由于英译汉文章题材的特点，考生通常对专业术语和人名地名的翻译，产生困扰。

专业术语多是科普性文章的特点和标志。我们拿1998年翻译73题为例：

Astrophysicists working with ground-based detectors at the South pole and balloon-borne instruments are closing in on such structures, and may report their findings soon.

在这道题中，astrophysicists是天体物理学家，由前缀 astro- 加physicist构成。很多同学知道physicist是物理学家，却不能识别前缀astro表示天体的含义，无法正确翻译这个名词。在ground-based detector中，detector这个名词既可以指人，表示发现者，探测者，又可以指物，表示探测器或检验器。如何判断它的正确释义，就是参照上下文提供的线索。我们可以看出ground-based detectors和balloon-borne instruments是并列关系，而instrument是仪器，那么detector在这里就一定是探测器。

其次，人名地名的出现也是科普类文章的一大特点。1994年的真题，提到了Galileo, 2008年有Darwin, 2001年还出现了Pearson. 对于这些人名的翻译，老师将其归纳为“家喻户晓型”和“鲜为人知型”。遇到Galileo, Darwin等知名人士，要采取普遍、公认的译法，不可自由发挥。而对Pearson这种不为人熟知的人名，则可采用音译的方法，必要时可用括号引入原词，作为补充或说明。

鉴于以上分析，跨考教育英语教研室韩老师建议各位考生真真正正地将翻译部分的复习与练习落于笔头之下，毕竟翻译是一个考查基本功的题型，也是直接考察词汇和语法的一个题型。

　　(一)词汇

考生要加强对于考研英语高频词汇的复习与巩固，考研翻译的单词基本都出现在高频词里，而高频词的问题在考研英语二里更为明显。一旦高频词不会，同时又是主题词的话，就会在文章里出现连带的错误，也会在考场上极大地打击考生信心。考前一个月突击时，考生应当反复复习高频词，不能出现任何纰漏。

　　(二)句法

句法方面，长难句在考研英语二翻译中的难度低了很多，出现频率也不高。另外在英语(二)的大纲之中，明确列出了考查的语法知识点：(1)名词、代词的数和格的构成及其用法;(2)动词时态、语态的构成及其用法;(3)形容词与副词的比较级和最高级的构成和使用;(4)常用连词的词义及其用法;(5)非谓语动词的构成及其用法;(6)虚拟语气的构成及其用法;(7)各类从句(定语从句、主语从句、表语从句等)及其强调句型的结构及其用法;(8)倒装句、插入语的结构及其用法。

　　(三)翻译的基本方法

考生在掌握以上语法知识点、准确把握理解句子之后，应当掌握一些基础考点的翻译方法，否则很难用通顺流畅的汉语进行表达，因此，考生应当掌握和熟悉英汉语言的主要差异，学习基本的翻译方法，比如定语从句等各种从句的翻译方法、非谓语动词的翻译方法，以及插入语的位置、被动语态的表达、语序的调整等等。这样才能使表达符合汉语语言习惯，才能使译文流畅，达到大纲“准确、完整、通顺”的要求。

复习要把重心放在最重要的位置上，次重心看如何应对它。最后要调整好心态，考研是知识、身体状况和心理状况和安排四种的结合体，如果四者结合的特别好才能达到事半功倍的效果，大家平常调整好你的心理，很多同学可能平时发挥的特别好，可是一到考场就发慌，大家平时自己隔一两周做一次整个套题的演练，这样发现我哪个地方还有问题，还紧张，不断的调整自己的心理状态，所以，所谓的乐观、积极向上和心态都是练出来的，每个哪个人是与生俱来的，你只有经过这样的磨炼才发现把一切事情化小，你才不会过多的在乎它的得失，人才能保持平静的心态，而心态的平静才能保证大家考试的时候正常的把你学的东西发挥出来。
