“弃婴岛”用英文怎么说？

去年12月10日，南京社会儿童福利院的弃婴岛正式启用。短短半个月内，被弃婴儿数量骤增，更有外地父母专门把孩子送来。弃婴岛究竟是救助了更多儿 童还是导致更多孩子被弃？民政部部长李立国日前在接受采访时指出，弃婴安全岛现在仍处于试点阶段，总体来看利大于弊，符合儿童利益最大原则，因而试点工作 还会继续推行。

The baby hatch, which usually consists of an incubator, a delayed alarm device, an air conditioner and a baby bed, allows the parent to safely and anonymously abandon the infant there.

弃婴岛内通常设有婴儿保温箱、延时报警装置、空调和婴儿床等，让父母能以匿名的方式把弃婴安全地放在那里。

上文中的baby hatch就是“弃婴岛”，也称作弃婴保护舱。弃婴岛的另一种英文表达是safe haven for abandoned children。弃婴岛内设有incubator（婴儿保温箱）、delayed alarm device（延时报警装置）、婴儿床、空调等，确保弃婴在被发现之前能安全地度过。

民政部部长表示，弃婴岛总体来看benefit outweighed the defect（利大于弊），在弃婴的timely medical treatment（及时救治）和 quick access into assistance（快速获得援助）等方面取得了明显效果。
