本地化翻译的出路在哪？

做久了以后对一切都感觉很厌弃，感觉什么都没意思了，也不想联系过去的同学和朋友了，好可怕啊。。。

我做了有三年多，翻译、审校水平虽然有提高，但仍找不到乐趣 根据我了解到的情况，做本地化翻译的同事都做不了多长时间。 我分析原因如下：1. 本地化过于注重一致性、格式、标点等问题，再加上一些vendor在QA时无谓的挑剔，浪费了很多时间，这无形中加重了翻译工作以外的负担，而且长期来看，对本身的语言水平并没有本质的提升和锤炼 2. 发展之路越来越窄，也无法形成特定的专业积累，转到其他翻译领域越来越困难 3. 从业人员素质参差不齐， 有强烈的不安全感 ，没有团队气氛，工作紧张，气氛比较沉闷， 4. 本地化利润越来越低，成本难以维持多工序的流程 5. 工作环境较封闭，难以完善人格，多数人较内向，难有深入的交流

感谢HelloGeek同学抬举，邀请我回答这个问题。作为一名混得不咋好的本地化翻译，我就先丢几块砖，然后请大家扔点玉过来，轻一点，我准备接着呢，别掉地上了……

先以我亲身的职业经历和一些圈内朋友的经历来简单介绍下这个出路问题。

第一年

工科毕业，混工厂，企图成为一名工程师，未果，欲转行，误打误撞跌入一家翻译公司。

第二年

该翻译公司正准备筹建本地化部门，刚进去对翻译一窍不通。老板说，你去做本地化翻译吧，我也不知道本地化翻译和其他翻译究竟有啥不同，懵懵懂懂就跟着师傅（起个代号A吧）做起来了。

A原在某著名大型本地化公司，算是本地化科班出身，经验颇为丰富，人也好，尤擅长各种本地化工具。跟着他慢慢学习，完成了几个较大的项目后，算是入了门。翻译圈子很小，细节就不多说了，容易对号入座。

第三年

本地化部门业务发展不顺，我等虽为菜鸟，但优势就是可塑性强，于是改做一般的翻译，也就是中译英，各种稿件都做，不过技术类为主。

第四年

老板想到了新的赚钱法子——人力资源外包，通俗点说，就是翻译公司外派你常驻别的公司。我乃革命一块砖，哪里需要哪里搬，于是被外包到某公司做技术写作（注意：这又是一个全新的职业），说白了就是用英语写各种操作手册。这个阶段学习了一些DTP软件和技术写作知识。

第五年至今

到外企，负责用户手册与软件的本地化，刚加入时相当于完全从零开始建立该公司的本地化部门。

最初的主要工作包括本地化翻译（中文）、开发与管理本地化供应商（其他语种）、DTP、项目管理，基本上本地化公司有的活偶一个人全包了。

随着团队的组建，我自己的工作重心转向项目管理、供应商质量管理、内部翻译质量管理。

此时，再转到带我入门的师傅A。他从上述翻译公司离职后，加入了另一家翻译公司，从部门经理、副经理最后一直做到总经理，现在应该也有了自己的翻译公司。

以上这些经历基本上也算囊括了本地化翻译的几个主要发展方向。

其他可能转向的职业：技术写作、口译

与翻译关系不大的其他出路在此就不说了。

首先，本地化翻译本身就是出路，目前合格的翻译其实并不多，但凡有合格的审校能力的翻译，都已经在审校团队或者专门质量监控团队。目前本地化翻译的现状是人才不足，真正负责的翻译工作相当稳定，从不乱投简历。
其次，虽然这位朋友没有提及自己的专业背景，我们暂时猜测他身边的同学朋友对他的工作了解不多。本地化翻译对专业背景和语言水平的要求都很高，如果感觉厌弃，多半是因为没有在其中找到乐趣。曾经见过最好的案例是这样：一位做本地化翻译的美女自称校对控，她能在3分钟内在一段130字左右的文章中找出20个错误，乐在其中。很多人不知道本地化翻译究竟是做什么的，她可以深入浅出的给同学朋友讲解她所做的工作，以致于身边的人对这个细分的行业有了更多了解。
再次，这位朋友没有说做久是多久，但是既然做久了就有很多经验可以分享。多参加行业交流会增加对行业的认可，也可以多参与客户行业的交流活动。Weibo 也有很多业内人士每天在讨论行业相关的话题，可以多看看，可以看到专家的职业发展路线哦。
另外，在工作中找到乐趣和行业的关系不大，无论做什么事，放弃功利心，找到乐趣，你会发现自己到了厌弃的彼岸——苦尽甘来。

同意2楼的回答。我是在生产型企业里面做翻译工作的，我很欣赏本地化行业的规范性。里面其实如果深入下去，真的是一片蓝海。至于说出路，我觉得关键在于活在当下，每一天都有积累。这样是最好的状态。
