为什么引进外文书籍的时间差那么大？

排除審查的原因，那些相差十多年引進的圖書，編輯們是從哪些方面考量的。
比如 The River Runs through It ，中文譯名《一江流過水悠悠》。1970 年代的小說，現在才引進。

時間差很大是正常狀態，四大名著還過了幾百年才被翻譯過去呢，也不說明什麼問題。

多數的書沒有很強的時效性，同時可供選擇的書那麼多，翻譯出版的資源這麼少，當然要慢慢挑、慢慢出。選擇的依據，籠統的說當然就是所謂的「出版價值」——有沒有必要介紹給中文讀者看。

沒有時間差才是特殊情況，說明需要趁著市場對書有很高期待的時候趕緊出版，這種熱門書是少數。「全球同步出版」的概念也就近幾年才有條件和意識去運作。

總的來說現在英美出版社的英語暢銷書譯介進來還是很及時的，快的幾個月，慢的一兩年，考慮策劃、版權談判、翻譯、編輯、印製等環節的固有週期，很不錯了。

王竞： 大约四年前，新闻出版总署发现，2004年只有一本中文图书被译成了德语，而德文译成中文出版的图书则高达560本。从那以后，新闻出版总署推行了一项“走出去”的政策：中国出版社不仅要购买版权，同时也要尽力向世界出售自己的版权。这条政策给出版社带来了很大的压力。我们希望通过在法兰克福书展上的主宾国活动让中国出版商和作者们熟悉国际市场，了解西方的话题。

中国缺乏有一定高度的翻译人才。
每年，美国翻译中国的文献量，中国翻译对方的还不到十分之一。
虽然，英语在中国的热门专业。
可是没有其他的专业知识作为支撑，语言只是个工具，不能成为武器。
很多东西，好的很隐晦。
中国正是缺乏伯乐，缺乏有能力琢玉的翻译家。

乔布斯传不是立即引进了。看有没有市场要求，如果没有那就靠翻译们的喜恶了，可能四十年后他读了觉得不错就翻译了。
