为什么 NBA 的新闻报道中“伟大”一词的出现频率如此之高？

是翻译有误还是不成文的规定？如，伟大的队友，伟大的比赛，伟大的事情，伟大的球队等等。什么都伟大，是不是不太对劲啊

的确有无数的great。数量多意味着不值钱，所以很多时候，它并不代表我们通常意义上所说的“伟大”，需要甄别。
作为一名篮球记者/编辑，我并不是逢great必翻作伟大，而是视具体情况翻译成如下词汇：很棒，真棒，好，出色，优秀，厉害，漂亮，完美，精彩，牛，强大，熟练，成功，爽，等等。而翻译成“伟大”的情况最多也就占到三分之一。
一般来说，如果我偶然看到一篇中文的篮球报道，里面充斥着各种“伟大”，那我必然关掉不看了。

伟大是从great翻译过来的。其实外国人什么都用great，我们做实验写这个数据更精确都是用“greater”，great的级别其实不及excellent跟outstanding。

一来这个词没有像翻译过来的“伟大”那么伟大，它可以经常用，had a great time ，或者父母夸小孩 you’re great 等等，总体就是令人愉悦，振奋，高兴。。。。都可以说 二来nba中的great是修饰名词的，你也举例了，great player，great game。。。真正描述球员的成就或者定义的时候，最常用的还是解说员那浑厚的“Un~~believable！！”
