著名作家张炜：文学翻译仍是一个大问题

第二十届北京国际图书博览会的第一天，版权贸易、新书发布、名家座谈、高端对话等众多活动就直接将博览会推向了高潮。

这一天里，尤为引人注目的是，铁凝、何建明、莫言、张海迪、杨红樱等著名作家的纷纷现身。

这届图博会，从开幕起，话题就离不开书与阅读。

王蒙：阅读带给我们很多希望

王蒙在开幕式上就直言爱读书。“不能忘记9岁时到‘民众教育馆’借的一本雨果（当时的译名是“嚣俄”）的《悲惨世界》。我沉浸在主教对冉阿让的以德报怨的精神冲击里。不能忘记10岁时我对于《大学》《孝经》《唐诗三百首》等的狂热阅读，那也是一种体会，道理可以变成人格，规范可以变成尊严与骄傲。不能忘记11岁时从地下党员那里借来的华岗的《社会发展史纲》、艾思奇的《大众哲学》、杜民的《论社会主义革命》、黄炎培的《延安归来》与赵树理的《李有才板话》，那是盗来的火种，那是吹开雾霾的强风。”

王蒙爱读书，但他并不认同盲目阅读，尤其是当下流行的快餐式阅读。“有了手机，越来越多的人不再认真阅读，只不过是看了一点视听节目，就已经觉得自己懂了，这大大败坏了对于经典作品的观感与品味。”

“轻松愉快、马马虎虎的浏览，不可能替代潜心阅读。心理学家、教育学家、语言学家、生理学家都已经判定，没有发达的语言系统是不可能有深刻丰饶的思想的。”王蒙由衷地建议，“坚持认真的、专心致志的阅读吧，它带给我们很多希望。如果我们只剩下了快速浏览，只剩下了多媒体的直观，我们的精神生活将会出现灾难。”

张炜：文学翻译仍是一个大问题

张炜带着自己的英文版长篇小说年编、散文年编、短篇小说精选，来到北京国际图书博览会。这套英文版，来之不易。直到今天，加拿大皇家科林斯出版集团有限公司合伙人Eric，仍清晰地记得签约的瞬间，他和他的搭档手都在发抖。因为张炜曾说过：“美文不可译。”这让Eric深感重任在肩，“如果只是简单地把张炜作品的美感用英文表达出来，那是对他作品的亵渎。”

“文学是一个国家文化的窗口，而张炜的作品，属于这其中最重要的组成部分之一。”Eric说，这些成绩的取得十分艰难，因为要跨越太多语言与文化的障碍。对这一点，张炜深感认同：“到目前为止，文学翻译仍是一个大问题。翻译就是把你的语言艺术转化为另一种语言艺术，比想象得难多了。具备这样的创造性，又深谙文学语言的翻译家，我认为世界范围不超过200人。”

尽管“走出去”的成绩硕果累累，但张炜依然持重：“一个好作家应该有这样的自信，就是为本民族、为这块土地上的人民去写作，而不是急于‘走出去’。”
