历史上的今天：英国国王下令翻译《圣经》

1536年5月6日，英国国王亨利八世下令翻译《圣经》。从此，英国每个教堂都能够“名正言顺”地拥有英文版《圣经》了。在此之前，《圣经》翻译工作仍面临着许多拦阻，例如，以翻译《圣经》著称的丁道尔就是于1536年遭受火刑而殉道的。

这对于今天的我们来说，或许已经是非常遥远的事情了。不过，在今天这个相对和平的环境中，在每个人（不论是否相信基督）都可以自由拥有所喜欢的《圣经》译本的今天，你是否拥有译本自己的《圣经》呢？其实，拥有一本《圣经》并不难，更为关键的是，你是否有每天读《圣经》的习惯呢？
不过，对于我们为什么要好好读《圣经》，恐怕有些人并不一定有清楚的答案。本文就试着解释这一问题：基督徒为什么要好好读《圣经》呢？
让我们先列举出几个常见的答案：

1. 有些基督徒认为，之所以要好好读《圣经》，是因为大家都在读《圣经》，如果只有我不读，是不是不对呢？与此相似，还有人觉得如果不读《圣经》，那跟其他基督徒在一起的时候，插不上话是多么没有面子的事情呢？

2. 还有些人前进了一步，他们认为读《圣经》是为了要对神有一个客观的认识。他们甚至比一般的基督徒更加努力，把《圣经》当做一本学术性著作进行钻研，从中得出一套关于“神”的理论。但是，他们的目标还是不够明确，仅仅走到了这里，而未能再进一步，实在是可惜啊！

3. 另一些人抱着一种更“高尚”的态度，他们之所以读《圣经》，是为了拿来跟人传福音，为了跟未信之人进行辩驳，或者跟不同信仰观点的人进行争辩，甚或是为了护教。这些人读《圣经》的时候，头脑里充满的是如何给别人解释这句经文的意思，让别人觉得自己更有道理。

其实，我们还可以列举出更多的理由。当然，这些观点未必都是错误的，甚至有些是非常重要的。但是，我们总不能忘记的还有一点，甚至这一点比刚刚我们已经列出的理由更加重要，那就是：好好读《圣经》并不是为了别人，而是我要照着神的话而活，我要活出《圣经》中上帝的教导。

在我们的生活中，重要的事情要放在重要的地位。当我们把上帝的话放在心里时，才能因为上帝的话得着好处，才可以一无挂虑。当神的话放在我们心里，运行在我们心中，我们就会因此而的自由，在生命中产生实际作用。

而如何才能够有系统的、在生命当中经历神的话呢？这就需要神的话每天都成为我们的帮助。我们可以通过信仰的操练，帮助我们更多的经历神的话在生活中的帮助。这些操练包括参加主日礼拜、查经班等，不过更加重要的是我们每天的灵修生活，每天都到神的面前去阅读神的话。
