澳洲布里斯本市议会新闻稿将译中文 迎合华人社区

5月14日电 据澳洲《星岛日报》报道，布里斯本的市议会新闻稿将透过一个“编辑部”翻译成中文，以图吸引外资及连接该市增长中的华人小区。

市长却克(Graham Quirk)指，该服务目标是放在于昆省首都说中文的40,800名居民，以及国际媒体渠道。但假如编辑部成功，亦会引入其它语言，如韩语，越南语及阿拉伯语。

却克称，服务是对布里斯本是一个友善、包容及进步的城市的肯定，是很多来自不同文化及语言背景人士的家。根据2011年的人口统计显示，于布里斯本有40,800名操中文的居民，意即汉语是继英语在该市最普遍的语言。他续指上载于网站的新闻稿被翻译成繁体中文，而预计假如初步的编辑部试验受欢迎的话，韩语，越南语及阿拉伯语的类似服务亦会投入运作。编辑部将进一步加强该市文化及语言上不同的沟通，容许市议会把新闻与多元文化媒体同步翻译，市议会亦将透过社交网Twitter来推广服务。

中文编辑部的翻译现时是由翻译笔译和口译国家认可机构(NAATI)完成。市议会亦正与小区电台4EB合作，以公布小区服务的消息，而其它重要的通讯亦会用多种语言公布。另外，一名市议会发言人指，新城市规划(City Plan)网站的主要部份草案及印刷的资料单张亦将被翻译成四种不同语言。
