老屋残碑 网友发微博求翻译

 

日前，一条“漳州老屋 藏有刻英文石碑”的微博引发网友的关注，吸引众多网友“求翻译”。昨日，记者实地探访获悉，该石碑为“美军飞行员殉难碑”，是为抗日战争期间在厦门遇难的4名美国飞行员所立，印证了当年同安群众保护美国盟军的一段历史佳话。墓碑所在地华安县下坂村原下坂小学旧校舍为“中美合作所第六特种技术训练（华安班）”旧址，如今已经荒废，当地文物部门表示将为此处申报省级文物保护单位。

 

英文墓碑 藏身老屋直到近年被发现

这座英文石碑存放在华安县下坂村龙安岩庙的一间杂物房内，由花岗岩打造，碑下部已经断裂，残高77厘米，宽57厘米，厚8厘米，刻有一副十字架，中间铭文为“THESE AMERICANS GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR COUNTRY”（译文：这些美国人把他们的生命献给了他们的国家），下面是4位殉难者的姓名及编号。

据龙安岩庙理事林老伯介绍，上世纪七八十年代，这块石碑便一直被藏在庙里的杂物间内。华安县博物馆馆长林艺谋介绍说，墓碑是在2009年第三次全国文物普查的过程中被发现的，根据文物保护属地管理的原则，应由下坂村管理。林老伯说，墓碑目前由村里暂管，平时很少让人参观，“放在太好的地方怕被偷，因此放到这间破旧的杂物房里，而且隔壁有人居住，方便看管”。

烽火岁月 中国民众救助美军传佳话

碑上的4人为何许人也？为何石碑会出现在华安县的小村子里？据林艺谋介绍，此石碑为“美军飞行员殉难碑”。

根据华安县文史资料记载，1945年3月2日，美海军一架四引擎轰炸机从菲律宾基地起飞，前来袭击日寇在厦门岛建立的重要军事基地禾山机场。与日军交火中，美军飞机不幸被日军高炮击中，飞机坠落于今厦门翔安海面。机组13人，6人牺牲落入海中，另外7人受重伤，漂泊于海上。危难时刻，20多名在海上作业的同安马巷镇陈下厝、丙洲等村的渔民，不顾日机扫射，迅速把美军伤员分别救入小船中，送往东礁的大石头下隐蔽起来。当天下午，获救的几名美军伤员被送往漳州。

随后，琼头、丙洲等村立即发动村民前往捞运尸体，4名殉难飞行员先后被发现捞回。村里还按照当地办丧事的习俗，买来新衣服、白布给尸体换上，并装棺入殓。

两个月后，美飞行员遗体被运至华安县下坂村，安葬在“中美合作所第六特种技术训练（华安班）”旧址，直到1947年，遗骸被运回美国安葬。

破旧老屋 抗战时美军在此进行特训

据了解，包括龙安岩庙在内的这一片老屋均是下坂村抗日战争期间“中美合作所第六特种技术训练（华安班）”旧址，美军曾在这里进行步兵操典、射击教范、简易测绘、化装技术、行动暗杀等技术训练。

1950年，该处被当地政府改建为下坂小学。1995年，下坂小学搬到新校区，此处划归为下坂村老人协会使用。这几年房子基本处于荒废状态，杂草丛生。

不远处的李氏宗祠祠堂外，斑驳的土墙上还画有中国地图、世界地图以及中美握手合作的标志。据说，这是当年美国士兵途经此地时特意描画的。林艺谋说，那块英文墓碑以及训练班旧址目前是华安县第二批县级文物，2009年时，当地政府拨款10多万元对旧址进行了维修。

今后考虑 原地保护将申报省保单位
新中国成立后，仍有不少美国士兵来此处追忆那段岁月。当年在训练班中担任游泳教练的海军教官罗伯特就是其中一个，2006年7月，80岁高龄的他和女儿从江西来到华安县，参观旧址并合影留念。回到美国后，罗伯特还专门写了一封信给林艺谋表示感谢，他说，参观训练班旧址是他这次中国旅行的重点之一，很高兴能够回到华安，回忆在这里的时光。

林艺谋说，这块石碑是抗日战争时期的珍贵历史文物，为子孙后代研究历史提供了物证，印证了当年中美联合抗日的那段历史。“目前将原地保护好这块石碑。”他表示，下一阶段将为此处申报下一批省级文物保护单位，以便更好地保护这些历史物证。
