英文翻译，无需加“号”

信息时报讯 （记者 林涛） 昨日上午，旅居广州的加拿大网友@加拿大戴伟在微博上指出，广州火车东站和谐号自动售票处的英文翻译有误，“和谐号”竟被翻译为“Harmonious number”（意为“和谐的数字”）。如此“望文生义”的中国式翻译引起网友热议，直指这等翻译“蒙得了中国人，蒙不到外国人”。

　　翻译软件的错？

@加拿大戴伟的微博说道，“我真的没想到连广州最重要的火车站也会用谷歌翻译设计他们的牌子。”在其微博配图上，和谐号的英译名为“Harmonious number”，意为“和谐的数字”。有网友表示，如此雷人的翻译显然是用翻译软件直译的。

昨日，记者来到广州东站5号门附近的和谐号自动售票处，看到了该雷人翻译。而在2号门的广深线（和谐号）自动售票处，和谐号又被翻译为“CRH”。记者随即用谷歌翻译“和谐号”，网站首先给出的翻译是“Harmony”，其次是“CRH”和“The Harmony”，最后一个才是“Harmonious Number”。

究竟“和谐号”的英译名究竟为何？对此，暨南大学外国语学院国际商务英语系系主任戴灿宇表示，英语国家在为物品、交通工具、产品命名的时候并没有“某某号”、“某某牌”的说法，这是中英文的差别。而和谐号的翻译除了官方的“CRH”外，还可以直接用“Harmony”，只要首字母为大写的话外国人就能看得懂。而生硬地加上“number（号）”，是很不认真的做法。戴灿宇表示，自己曾和香港高校的教授应邀为广州一些地标的英文译名提出修改意见，他认为，目前广州还有很多地方、单位的英文翻译有问题，希望有关部门能够重视起来，不要再让这些明显有错漏的翻译“蒙人”。

随后，记者向广州东站值班站长反映了该问题，对方表示，会安排制作标志的工作人员进行修改。
