《魔戒》“艰难”译出新版本

晨报讯（记者 刘婷（微博））世纪文景出版的《魔戒》全新中译本近日终于与读者见面。自1月《霍比特人》出版后，《魔戒》这部托尔金最重头作品的全新译本便受到广泛关注。该书译者之一、台湾著名翻译家邓嘉宛表示，此次的译者像魔戒的护戒队那样组成了一个“团契”，整整十个月，这趟翻译之旅的艰难不亚于魔戒远征队的旅程。

据出版方介绍，全新译本《魔戒》共计三部——《魔戒同盟》《双塔殊途》《王者归来》。不同于惯常合译的“分田生产”，邓嘉宛、石中歌、杜蕴慈这三位熟识多年的老友采用的是“一人主译，专业补充”的有机合作方式：邓嘉宛翻译全书正文，杜蕴慈翻译诗歌，石中歌则翻译附录，并负责全文尤其是译名的校订工作。托尔金生前曾详细撰文提出《魔戒》中的所有重要人名、地名、专名应遵循何种原则翻译成外语。全新译本力求严格遵循作者的本意，希望真正解决长期以来困扰中文读者的《魔戒》译名系统不完备的宿疾。

另据介绍，此前，邓嘉宛投入托尔金翻译工作已超过十年，在她的译笔下，《精灵宝钻》文笔模仿钦定本《圣经》；《胡林的子女》也被公认为典雅悲壮、值得信赖的译本；还有翻译多部托尔金研究导读，以及全文校订朱学恒本《魔戒》的经历。11月译者邓嘉宛、杜蕴慈将来京，参加与该书相关的活动。

此外，文景新版《魔戒》的装帧设计再次由知名设计师陆智昌操刀，舍弃了包括以电影海报为主要元素的种种封面方案。最终样貌选用磨砂书套、赭红书盒，再加三部书的形式。三册书的封面创意采用了托尔金教授1954年为《魔戒》首版所设计的三张原插画。
