“moneyball”如何翻译更好？

这里谈到的不仅仅是电影名。因为上周末看NBA全明星时，三分赛每个投篮点的最后一个球也是叫做moneyball。btw，还有哪些场合出现过这个词？

由于Micheal Lewis的书和据其改编的电影太有名，因此一旦“Moneyball”出现在新闻里，一般就是讲美国职业体育联盟（尤其是MLB和NBA这种工资帽比较不管用的联盟）。意思么，就是Micheal Lewis书里那套东西：豪强球队靠高薪堆球星的大环境下，小球队只能依赖统计学捡漏。

要说翻译成中文，“点球成金”作为电影名和书名都还不错。但是如果新闻里出现“Moneyball phenomenon”，再这么说就不太合适了。具体怎么译还真有点棘手，要不就处理成“正如Micheal Lewis的《点球成金》所说……”之类的，或者在条件许可的情况下不翻译。

其他语境的moneyball我就不熟了。NBA那个两分的彩球叫“moneyball”是不是跟Lewis的书有关我不知道，一般要译说“两分球”就成。

至于解说的话，我倒没听过用“moneyball”来表示关键球的，因为这个词基本上已经是专有名词了。NFL的解说员对关键球一般说“key”。

全明星三分大赛上（天呐！说到我的痛了！开会连电视都没有碰到！）的这个moneyball，是指双倍分数的球（其他都是1分，这个2分）；

比赛中好像也偶尔能够听到说moneyball的时候（如果我没有因为睡眠不足大脑错乱而记错的话），这个时候是指这个球价值连城——不一定要绝杀或者决定胜负，但是这个球却可能是能够对比赛走势产生影响的。

体坛周报的颜强写过一本书《金球：颜强眼中的英超帝国》，这本书在外就翻译的《Moneyball》，可参考。结合到资本与金钱在英超的重要性，我想这样的翻译再合适不过了。

港台那边翻译成魔球，起源上面有的筒子已经说了，就是点球成金那部电影，Billy Beane采用数据分析手段来代替常规的球探经验来辅助决策，在MLB中有很多拥护者，某种意义上产生了一场革命，后来也被很多美国其他体育联盟的经理所采用。

在一些欧洲足球俱乐部里也有使用，比较典型的是利物浦，因为他们的美国老板henry同样是MLB红袜的老板，但是说实话目前还没有看到有MLB那么大的影响力，毕竟数据不是万能的，足球又是一项远远比棒球篮球要复杂的运动

三分球大赛里面是指双倍分球，好像是五个中有一个这样的球。
电影是《点球成金》，同样的理论在篮球里面大多被翻译成“魔球”，
就是火箭队总经理那套抠门的理论。

在网球中，每一局、每一盘、每一场比赛的关键球（决定这一局、一盘、一场比赛输赢的球），分别叫做局点、盘点、赛点，虽然对应的英文不一样（game point, set point, match point），但我想，篮球里面也可以这么翻译。

一般情况下，好的翻译，尤其是影视的翻译等通常不是直译。在很多情况下是根据剧情作出的意译。就譬如说王家卫《华样年华》很多中国人觉得英文名《in the mood for love》翻得不好。但是对于英语为母语的人来说，in the mood for love 是恰如其分，完美的翻译。
电影《moneyball》的主题是表现金钱在体育运动中的作用，我认为“点球成金”“一球千金”二种翻译都不错。但侧重点不同。““一球千金”是现实主义的翻译，更能表现电影中金钱与运动关系的阐述。而”点球成金“是浪漫主义的翻译，它强调的是理想（一个教练，过气球星，小人物）对现实的超越，强调的是精神对物质的超越，人类精神的升华。因而，”点球成金“好过”一球千金“。
