Scientist科学家

scientist这个词诞生于近代，时间约在1840年。创造这个词的是英国剑桥大学历史学家费米尔。他是根据拉丁词scien(了解)和法语词science(泛指一切学习的形式)而创造的。但这并不意味着在这以前没有科学家，只是scientist一词出现得很晚罢了。

有人对”科学家”下这样的定义:科学家应具有”敏锐的观察，精细的实验，谨慎的分类，证据的收集，结论的研判”的素质。
