小餐馆菜单中英双译 特色翻译看傻大学生

回锅肉、鱼香肉丝、宫保鸡丁……知道用英文怎么说吗？如果不知道，你就弱爆了！在自贡城区人人乐旁边，就有这样一家路边苍蝇馆子，用的菜单居然全是中英文双译。不只传统川菜，荤燃面、干担面等具有川南特色食品的英文翻译也一应俱全。

特色翻译荤燃面中英文菜单看傻大学生

昨日上午，华西城市读本记者在这家路边馆子看到，贴在墙上的中英文双译菜单格外显眼。 记者注意到，除了贴在墙上外[微博]，店里的桌上也摆着不少菜单，菜单共分为两份，一份标有“红色的菜单”，主要包括面食、炒饭等，荤燃面、红油炒手、酸辣粉等赫然在列。另一份标有“蓝色的菜单”，均为家常炒菜，麻婆豆腐、小煎鸡、猪肝血皮菜等均在其中。

“回锅肉是‘twice-cooked pork’，这我知道，其他大部分还真不知道。”市民李庆(化名)大学毕业不久，曾过国家英语六级，他坦言，要准确翻译这些川菜，自己根本不行。

记者注意到，这份菜单跟普通餐馆里用的白色菜单一样，只是在中文后面加上了英文的翻译，例如荤燃面的翻译是“Noodles with peanuts,onion, suace”、干担面翻译的是“Spicy noodles(with no broth)”、鱼香肉丝则是翻译成“Fish-floavored shredded pork”等。

点菜不方便老外主动翻译特色菜

一家苍蝇馆子，为什么会用上中英文菜单？据餐馆的黄梅说，她们在这儿经营餐馆很久了，去年开始，居住在附近的不少老外就开始到她的餐馆吃面。“有美国人、印度人。刚开始，都是带着翻译来的，但后来有些时候，翻译不在，交流就会出现障碍。”黄梅说，由于店里没人会英语，只会说些“yes”、“no”、“one”、“two”之类的单词，跟他们交流都是用手比划才行，十分麻烦。

“后来他们带的一个翻译看到这样情况后，就用纸写了一些常用语贴在墙上。”黄梅说，“其中有个外教，大概30多岁，对中文也很熟，店里的菜，除了‘姜鸭面’他不认识，其他都懂。他回去帮我们做了这些菜单，后来老外再到店里来，就直接指，就不需要翻译了。”

根据餐馆提供的线索，记者联系上了该外教所在的自贡四中相关负责人。据该负责人说，学校只有一个外教，在中国已经待了十多年了，一般上完课就走了，了解并不多，并不确定就一定是他。按照校方提供的联系方式，记者多次试图联系，但对方手机一直处于关机状态。

　　小馆子也牛气菜单比肩四星级酒店

记者随后将拍下的菜单照片，随机到自贡几所学校询问了5名学生，5人均表示要全部看懂难度很大，只能依据基本意思，猜中个别菜的意思。一名学生对记者说，上面的单词很多都不认识，也不知道翻译得对不对。

自贡一中教了多年英语的罗文莉老师，看过菜单后指出，“译者是从食物的原料上入手翻译的，基本大意翻得不错，但个别有所不足。

比如在翻译荤燃面上，就缺少了体现荤的单词meat。 但作为一个外国人能翻译成这样还是很不错，我能接受这样的翻译。”罗文莉还说，“译者应该是对中英文都有较深的了解，才能翻译成这样。这个菜单不仅中国人，外国人也是能看懂的。”

“在自贡，只有四星级及其以上的中高档酒店才要求有中英文菜单。”自贡市檀木林城市名人酒店相关负责人李立华说，“苍蝇馆子配中英文菜单，确实没听说过。”(华西城市读本记者 刘瑞 摄影报道)
