“爱洋葱阅读沙龙”分享重译《福尔摩斯探案集》背后的故事

21日，由外研社旗下社会化双语阅读平台爱洋葱网主办的“阅读季 爱洋葱阅读沙龙”在北京世贸天阶时尚廊书店举行。作为“阅读季 爱洋葱阅读沙龙”的首场活动，爱洋葱网邀请了由外研社出版的《新译福尔摩斯探案全集（汉英双语版）》译者李家真先生与读者分享重新翻译名著背后的故事，并在现场进行签售。

名著不妨有多个译本

《福尔摩斯》系列小说可谓开辟了侦探小说史上“黄金时代”的不朽经典，也正是因为对《福尔摩斯》的酷爱，李家真决定重译这部小说。在重译的过程中，他深入研究这部作品，力求还原原著，剖析柯南 道尔的深刻用心。

《福尔摩斯》系列已经有很多个版本，但李家真认为名著不妨有很多个译本，因为“现在中西方交流更加频繁，我们对西方更加了解，对西方社会有了更多的知识和判断力，因此当代译者具有重译的优势”。但是相比以前的译者，“当代译者无论从自身学养和态度方便都有所欠缺，是需要提高的地方”。

对不起作者和读者比对不起出版社更严重

在谈到当下出版环境时，李家真认为现在出版社面临很大的市场压力，对出版的速度有了更高的要求。这种压力随之转移到作者和译者的身上，造成了出版质量的下降。但是“对不起作者和读者比对不起出版社更严重”，自己还是要尽力保持译作的质量。

先“信”而后“达、雅”

“信、达、雅”是公认的翻译标准之一，李家真在阐释自己对这个标准的理解时说：“翻译首先要做到‘信’，在此基础上尽量追求‘达’和‘雅’。翻译这版《福尔摩斯》时，我很注重对历史细节的翻译，因为甚至是细小的历史名词的变化也会反映出当时独特的历史风貌。”李家真还认为翻译并不是创作，译者一定要“尊重原著，尊重作者，保持自己的职业操守，否则不严谨的翻译会造成社会对该作品甚至是当时社会的误解。”

活动最后还设有“福尔摩斯问答”小互动，向在互动中胜出的读者赠送《新译福尔摩斯探案全集（汉英双语版）》图书。近百名读者参与，现场反响热烈。
