海归翻译前景受自身能力和行业状况双重影响

在我国的翻译市场中，海归占有很大的比例。他们选择从事翻译工作与自身的语言优势有一定的关系。海外的生活经历，使得海归更熟悉国外的文化背景，有利于正确地理解语义。他们中有的是在做全职翻译，有的只是在工作之余通过做兼职翻译赚外快。国内市场对海归翻译的认可如何？海外生活经历能否使他们的翻译之路畅通无阻？

需求大多兼职翻译

调查发现，海归在国内一些翻译公司的招聘中的确比较有优势。例如，翔云翻译公司、秋阳翻译公司在招聘时，“具有海外留学背景获得硕士以上学位者”符合免试优先聘用的条件。还有很多翻译公司招聘时都会注明“有留学海外的生活和工作经验者优先”。据了解，拥有留学经历及证书的海归人员更容易取得客户的信任。杭州海归翻译社的社长兼高级英语翻译周小瑜说：“近几年到公司应聘的海归越来越多，随着专业分工的细化，在某一专业领域内，外语能力比较突出的海归更受欢迎。”
然而，从事翻译的海归大多是兼职或者将翻译作为自己职业过渡期的选择，专门从事翻译工作的反而比较少。毕业于美国一所工程学院的王红，曾有多年在国外生活的经历，精通英语、法语。目前，她在网上开了一家淘宝店，提供中英双语翻译和英语文件代写服务。但是，她的本职工作却是在一家外资企业做业务，她说：“开淘宝店是因为我有其它的计划，而这个计划的实施需要本金，我只是用自己的一项技能尽快地准备一些资金。”“很多海归回国多年以后，已经具备足够实力承接翻译公司的业务，他们为了拥有更多的自由空间，一般倾向于转做兼职翻译。”中国翻译联谊会秘书长曹旭东补充道。

发展难中高端翻译空间大

但是，并不是所有的海归从事翻译以后都有很好的发展前景。首先，海归自身翻译能力的不同使他们有不同的发展选择。作为日语自由翻译的丁筱轩对此深有体会。她说：“能力突出的口译类的海归一般会朝着同传方向发展，而笔译类的海归则多集中在翻译公司。还有一种就是自己接洽客户，先做翻译团队，然后由团队发展成翻译公司。”
刘禹就是由团队发展成翻译公司的典型。刘禹2008年毕业于美国的瓦萨尔学院，并于2011年3月与团队成立翻译公司。
其次，翻译行业本身的问题也制约海归翻译的发展空间。比如：行业定位不明，缺乏准入制度；缺乏整体质量流程控制；翻译同行竞争激烈，翻译价格不断走低；翻译规模偏小，没有形成产业等。有一些海归在应聘翻译公司时，被翻译公司以试翻译为由骗取无偿劳动。“自身语言技能水平以及外部从业环境使得海归从事翻译的前景不是特别明朗。但如果可以做到中高端翻译，那么无论是薪资还是工作环境都是比较满意的。”丁筱轩说。
