Police force of sorts 即「某种」警力，是讽刺警察无能；Secret service 一般是指特工部队，比如美国的 United States Secret Service，英国的 Secret Intelligence Service，和警察一样，也是执法机构，理论上要比警察强很多（这就是为什么说“even”），不过我没看过这部剧集，不太清楚这里是不是真的指官方特工。Marginally 的意思，本版同文已经有人解释过是「勉强算得上」了，这个词是从「（纸面、版面的）边缘」margin 一词演化来的，一开始是 marginal，指「写在页面边缘的」、也就是不重要的事情，后来衍生出「也就刚刚沾个边」的意思，所以「无孔不入」的翻译不妥。
