如何打造中国当代文学的翻译家

“打造”这个词儿我蛮喜欢，它表明了一个策略一个想法，而不是盲目地做事儿。日前看《新京报》网站上说“诺奖文集”被指剽窃，虽不知内情，但文学作品的翻译工作绝对不是靠什么翻译公司就能搞出来的，如果连这样的翻译作坊都能出面说事儿的话，我看天下的文学差不多也就快死翘翘了！
文学翻译是一门非常高端的智力工作，因为它的语言往往是日常生活当中极端浓缩的，但同时又是极端稀释的表达，而且还是跨越双边文化的一条长长的河。
我很早就听说，中国当代文学之于世界上的传播一直不利，其中最大的理由是翻译的问题，很多翻译靠的都是我们自己，既不是对方国家的母语，也不是土生土长的本地语言，很多情况都是一半在中国，另一半在对方国家成长的人，半吊子，结果双边的文化根基都不深，于是被翻译出去的作品也就花了脸！
拿我自己为例，用外文写作，用日文写自己的作品，这个有十足的把握，但说到翻译别人的作品，把中文翻译成外文，这个打死我也不敢！除非口头翻译，这个愿意做的，因为有现场的气氛，可以减弱语言的承载力，可一旦涉及到文学笔译，我觉得你有再大的本事也不可能跟母语国的人磕！
那为什么用外文写自己的作品反而有信心呢？这个道理其实很简单，因为你的外文是异种类型的，从语气上从结构上从句式上都是如此，一旦遇到很难表达的意念，你可以随时掉头，找个弯路就可以解决。然而，翻译别人的作品却不能这样做。
综上所述，在我看来，打造中国当代文学的翻译家，大约可以归纳成以下三点：
1、必须起用对方母语国家的人做笔译。
2 、母语的表达能力必须要高于对中文的理解能力，因为中文理解能力的发达往往会阻碍翻译者的母语思维，这是件蛮可怕的事儿！
3 、热爱文学，知道文学之于现实的荒诞与诚实。
