“2013中国当代优秀作品国际翻译大赛”在京启动

9月2日，由国务院新闻办公室、中国作家协会和中国外文局联合主办的“2013中国当代优秀作品国际翻译大赛”在京启动。这是近年来我国首次为当代文学作品举办国际翻译大赛，旨在激发国内外创作翻译力量对介绍中国文学的兴趣。设在中国网的比赛官方网站同时上线运营。

吸引世界翻译力量聚焦中国文学

本次大赛面向所有热爱中国文化的境内外翻译工作者。国新办三局局长张雁彬表示，希望通过大赛的举办，使更多优秀的中外翻译人才关注中国文学和中国文化，投身到对外介绍中国的事业中，以高质量的译作，让世界人民更加了解中国，推动中华文化走向世界，扩大中华文化的国际影响力，促进世界文化的繁荣。

《中国新闻出版报》记者了解到，为使更多优秀翻译人才关注中国当代文学、关注本次大赛，主办方做了很多努力。中国翻译协会计划通过其国际翻译家联盟以及大赛涉及5种语言所在的翻译协会、翻译公司开展“相当力度的推广”。奖金也相对丰厚，每个语种的译文一、二、三等奖奖金分别为5000美元、3000美元、1000美元或等值人民币，且获奖作品将由国内外知名出版机构出版。

参赛作品为当代中国文学精粹

本次大赛的最重要一环，是组委会推荐30篇中国当代优秀短篇小说作为参赛原文发布，参赛者可自行选择其中一篇翻译成英文、法文、俄文、西班牙文或阿拉伯文中任何一种语言。评审委员会将从这些译文中评选出获奖作品。

“在所有作品中，文学最能反映一个国家的文化，也是最难翻译的，但这正是此次大赛激动人心的地方和魅力所在。”中国外文局副局长、中国翻译协会副会长兼秘书长黄友义说。

记者了解到，30部作品中几乎囊括了我国当代文学界的中坚力量，王蒙、莫言、阿来、毕飞宇、迟子建、方方、贾平凹、刘震云等均有作品列入其中。这些作品有两个最重要特点，即文学水平、国际品相。中国作协书记处书记李敬泽表示，希望翻译家们通过这些作品认识到中国当代文学作品的魅力，进而投身这一事业，有效缓解中国文学走出去逆差严重现状。

新秀将被列入翻译人才库

根据比赛规则，所有参赛者应于2014年2月28日前寄送译文。经过一个月的评审期后，主办方计划在当年8月前完成出版工作，并于2014年的北京国际图书博览会上举行获奖作品首发式。

“会不会发现一些翻译新秀？”发布会上，很多记者对此非常关心。李敬泽肯定地说：“大赛将会对发现新的翻译家、鼓励新的翻译家起到重要作用。”黄友义表示，对大赛中涌现出来的翻译新秀，中国翻译协会准备将其纳入正在编辑、制作当中的翻译人才库，所有获奖者均可申请中国翻译协会专家会员。他希望国内外出版社因此关注这些获奖者，使其成为介绍中国文学的翻译“新生代”。

本次活动由“中国图书对外推广计划”工作小组、中国翻译协会、中国作家协会创研部和人民文学杂志社共同承办，中国国际出版集团、企鹅图书有限公司、法国阿歇特图书集团、西班牙大众出版社、俄罗斯东方文学出版社和埃中文化交流协会协办。
