如何正确选择合适的翻译公司

把翻译供应商华丽的宣传手册丢到一边，也不要为他们或真诚或虚情假意的推销技巧所迷惑，您要准确了解的是：您找的翻译供应商能胜任您的翻译工作吗？

看看他们已经翻译的样本一不仅是客户名单，还要看看他们已 经完成的且认为满意的译文。如果他们是您的网站外文版的竞标 者，先看看他们已经完成的网站。用同样的方法看看手册或演讲 稿。把样稿拿给信得过的、对语言敏感且讲母语的权威人士看看, 听听他们的意见。

若已经从业几年的翻译供应商拿不出令人满意的作品，恐怕您要 麻烦了（当然他们也是）。告诉翻译供应商他们的名字将会与照 片提供者及印刷商的名字排在一起，出现在他们翻译的作品里。

对您来说，印上译者的名单不会增加成本，但是却会鼓励译者拿 出最好的作品。注：译者可能会坚持由他们完成校样稿的审定工 作，以保护他们的声誉不因译文最后被人籌改而蒙受伤害。这对 双方都好，何乐而不为？

提前计划：若贵公司有心开发国外业务，现在 就应该着手寻找翻译人才。一旦有需要翻译的 文件，要给译者留出尽可能多的时间。

控制可以控制的：拟出一份文件内使用的术语 (顺便一提，这也是确保原文一致性的有效措 施X然后让公司职员同译者共同制定一份双语 对照的术语表。

量体裁衣

供出版用？限内部参考？选机器翻译？只为了解大概？一您需 要什么样的翻译？准备投入多少预算？

一个办法：算算有多少人阅读您的译文一全国性的宣传报道， 还是供12人团队使用的内部备忘录？糟糕的翻译会给您的公司带 来多大的影响？由此您的公司要承担多大的法律责任？

现在，再看一下您的预算。翻译行业是个利基市场。即使是“供出版”的翻译业务，敢承揽的服务机构和供应商有一大串，相应也会有五花八门的报价。出色完成软件使用手册翻译任务的翻译团队未必能够胜任贵公司年度报告的翻译工作。

流行杂志及昂贵路标上的广告，要买最好的译文；公司内部的备忘录或发行量不大的文件，可买一般（也较便宜）的译文。

参与其中

对于翻译买家而言，最容易遭人垢病的失误就是在翻译过程中袖手旁观、不闻不问。若不花点时间与翻译供应商沟通，您将很难得到理想的译文。

与其吩咐秘书“把这个翻了”，不如多花10分钟时间亲自安排一下；而如果能找个合适的人也花10分钟时间与译者（或者项目经 理）仔细谈谈，可能会又省事又省钱。
