魔幻现实主义

魔幻现实主义（magical/magic realism）指的是一种将魔幻因素（magic elements）自然融入现实背景的流派，多见于文学作品，不过也用于电影和视觉艺术（visual arts）领域。该流派最著名的代表作就是加西亚•马尔克斯《百年孤独》（One Hundred Years of Solitude）。

魔幻现实主义文学一般具有以下特点：fantastical elements（怪异因素）、real-world setting（真实世界为背景）、authorial reticence（作者不对魔幻因素做任何解释）、plentitude（细节丰富）、hybridity（各种现实层面的融合）、heightened awareness of mystery（集中关注神秘感）、political critique（政治批评）。

魔幻现实主义文学流派产生于拉丁美洲，这些地区的作家经常往返于自己的祖国和巴黎、柏林等欧洲文化名城（cultural hubs）之间，他们的写作风格也由此收到欧洲当时文艺运动的影响。1927年，德国艺术评论家Franz Roh（弗朗茨•罗）的一本书被译成西班牙语时首次将绘画的魔幻现实主义和文学的魔幻现实主义联系到一起，此后一年内，魔幻现实主义一词被广泛用于指代布宜诺斯艾利斯文学圈内的欧洲作家的作品。
